Safeguarding Policy

At Barton Rovers Football Club, we are committed to providing equality of opportunity across all of our activities. We will not tolerate discrimination or unfair treatment based on sex, sexual orientation, race, nationality, ethnic origin, colour, religion, or disability. This applies to:

  1. The recruitment and selection of volunteers

  2. The selection of candidates for roles

  3. Training programs and courses

  4. Football development activities

  5. Team selection processes

 

Barton Rovers FC will not accept sexual harassment, racial harassment, or any form of discriminatory behaviour, whether verbal or physical. Any discriminatory conduct will be addressed with appropriate action, regardless of where or how it occurs.

Code of Conduct for Players

 

As a player for Barton Rovers FC, I am dedicated to upholding the positive spirit and values of the Club. I strive to:

  • Continuously improve my skills and attend training sessions.

  • Set a positive example for others, especially younger players and supporters.

  • Avoid gamesmanship and time-wasting tactics.

  • Refrain from using inappropriate language.

  • Give my best effort in every game.

  • Play with integrity and within the laws of the game to help my team succeed.

  • Understand and follow the rules, both the letter and the spirit of the game.

  • Accept both victory and defeat graciously.

  • Show respect to opponents.

  • Prioritize the safety of opponents, avoid rough play, and assist injured players.

  • Respect the officials of both my team and the opposition.

  • Accept decisions made by referees without protest.

  • Avoid misleading officials through words or actions.

  • Show appreciation for the fans and supporters of the game.

Code of Conduct for Coaches

As a coach for Barton Rovers FC, I commit to:

  • Respecting the rights, dignity, and worth of every individual.

  • Prioritising the well-being and safety of each player above all else.

  • Adhering to all relevant guidelines and regulations set by governing bodies.

  • Building strong relationships with players based on trust and mutual respect.

  • Encouraging players to take responsibility for their own actions and performances.

  • Tailoring coaching to the players’ age, experience, and ability.

  • Clearly communicating expectations to players, while also outlining what they can expect from me as a coach.

  • Cooperating with other specialists for the benefit of players.

  • Promoting fairness and good sportsmanship.

  • Consistently exhibiting high standards of behaviour and appearance.

  • Never using or tolerating inappropriate language.

 

Code of Conduct for Club Officials

As a Club Official of Barton Rovers FC, I will strive to:

  • Set a positive example for others, especially young players and supporters.

  • Share knowledge and experience when appropriate.

  • Avoid any form of gamesmanship.

  • Show respect to match officials and all involved in the game.

  • Always consider the best interests of the sport.

  • Refrain from using inappropriate language.

  • Prioritise the team’s interests above personal interests.

  • Promote ethical conduct and fair play.

  • Respect the needs and interests of players, coaches, and fellow officials, both within our club and beyond.

 

Child Protection Policy

  • The safety of children and young people is of utmost importance in all activities at Barton Rovers FC.

  • We will adhere to the Football Association’s guidelines for publishing images of children and young people (see Appendix A).

  • Our child protection measures are designed to protect both children and adults, ensuring the safest possible environment.

  • Parental consent will be obtained for the publication of images of children and young people (see Appendix B).

  • All volunteers working with children and young people will be appropriately vetted, as per the guidelines outlined in Appendix C.

  • At least one Barton Rovers Youth FC administrator will have completed a Football Association Child Protection course, with the names of the responsible individuals recorded in meeting minutes.

  • This policy and course attendance will be reviewed annually in May, alongside the latest guidelines from www.TheFA.com/goa.
